Nuploy (Ploy) & Roy Stone were married in a small village (Ploy’s home town, Bon Non Hom) just about 40 miles North of Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand and 25 miles West of the Laos border, in 2002. Roy was working for GE at Thai Air. They were able to get a visa for Ploy and their children, Mill & Tom in May 2003. Mill was 6 and Tom was only a few months old. In less than a year after arrival in the US, Ploy started dreaming of opening a Thai restaurant in Historic District of Lebanon, OH.  She never let that dream go. After Roy retired in May 2018, Ploy’s dream intensified. She decided to work with some of her friends in another Thai restaurant but that did not make the dream go away. It only made it stronger. In October 2018, 11 S. Broadway, a first floor 3000 sq ft building became available. It was in a perfect location, although a tad small, but they believed they could make it work! Ploy & Roy leased the first floor of the old bank building on Nov 1, 2018 and started turning it into a Thai restaurant. The restaurant opened its doors on April 29th 2019. Ploy is an American Citizen and very proud of that! She also feels strongly that she has an obligation to properly represent her home country which she does very well. Thailand is known as the “Land of Smiles” and Nuploy has a smile for every Customer that she meets! She also represents her country well with authentic traditional Thai dishes. If passing thru or staying in the Lebanon, OH area, give Mae Ploy’s Thai Restaurant a try. You won’t be disappointed!
